ABOUT
Orquesta Nostalgia
Orquesta Nostalgia began as the vision of Anselmo Vidal Jr., to bring the Big Band music of the 50's & 60's to South Florida. The plan included playing arrangements and performance styling of Tito Puente, Tito Rodriguez, Machito, and many more. This 13 piece Mambo Band strives to preserve the traditional elements of the mambo genre, so that it is appealing to the listener, and more importantly, to the dancer. Although "Junior", as he liked to be called, has gone to that great Mambo Band in Heaven, his vision for this band and his passion for this music will live on forever through the performances of Orquesta Nostalgia.

Nostalgia- definition:
"A yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition".

Orquesta Nostalgia has a team of industry professionals that together produce a musical experience that will do exactly that, transport you to that era of dance, swing, and showmanship of the Mambo era.

Ranses Colon is one of the most sought-after bassists in South Florida, for both live performance as well as recordings. He dominates all the electric basses, 4, 5, 6 and 7 string, including fretless, as well as the baby bass and upright acoustic bass. He has made countless recordings and worked with artists such as Ricky Martin, Placido Domingo, Juan Gabriel, Nestor Torres, Enrique Chia, Celia Cruz (as band leader), Juan Luis Guerra, and Oscar de Leon.
